In the 4th request of Jesus' instructions on prayer, he taught his disciples to pray, 'Father, give us this day our daily bread.' Is this literally a request for bread, or is "bread" a metaphor for something else? And is it relegated to today's bread, or does it also include tomorrow's? What kinds of things constitute 'our daily bread'? Maybe most importantly, what are the implications of neglecting to pray this prayer on behalf of ourselves and others?
