The Emptiness of External Religion

Like first-century Jews, many professing Christians today believe that they are saved because their parents were Christians or because they were baptized or any number of things to which they could point. But no one is saved by external religion. The external things God calls His people to embrace are merely symbols of the internal realities He has worked within them.
